Sleeping two, and welcoming a medium-sized dog, this pet-friendly escape is ideal for a romantic retreat.
Part of a granite faced Victorian house, this idyllic apartment has been lovingly renovated to retain many of its original features, including lovely high ceilings and bay window, which lets in natural light and enjoys a wonderful view across the roof tops of St Ives, harbour and island.
In the open-plan living space, consisting of a kitchen, dining and sitting area, two plush leather sofas are perfectly positioned to relax soaking up the views or enjoying the entertainment on the smart television.
A dining area has romantically been set within the bay window; take a seat at the vintage table with a glass of wine and admire the beautiful Cornish vista many restaurants would envy.
The contemporary kitchen is to the rear of the open-plan living space, well-appointed with fitted, contemporary units and sleek black granite effect work tops, a separate washer/dryer is housed in half of the bedroom wardrobe, providing all you need in your home from home.
The master bedroom, set off the hallway to the rear, benefits from a private en-suite wet room with refreshing rainfall shower and underfloor heating, this comfortable bedroom is light and airy, lit by natural light through a window, and features a sumptuously dressed double bed and plenty of storage space.
A shared seaward facing terrace is accessed via the front door, a bistro table and two chairs have been set in a cordoned off area, ideal for an alfresco coffee with a breath-taking view across the roof tops and St Ives bay.
A communal shower in the front courtyard is ideal for washing off sandy wetsuits, paws or muddy boots, a lockable store on the side of the house contains body boards for guests use and is ideal for storing beach items.
The nearby Porthmeor Beach, has a seasonal lifeguard service and has been awarded a blue flag for its crystal-clear waters, so why not try out its surf school or enjoy a meal at its beachside café, it is set right on the beach, like the Michelin Plate restaurant found at Porthminster Beach, Porthminster Beach Café, or the plethora of eateries found around the harbour and town which offer menus to delight any foodie, featuring fresh sea food and local produce, the town centre is filled with a variety of boutiques and galleries featuring local art, on your doorstep you’ll find the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, full of work from famous artist inspired by St Ives.
Some of St Ives smaller beaches are pet friendly year-round but the larger ones have restrictions, venture along the South West Coast Path towards Porthkidney Beach, its pet friendly all year and has a long stretch of golden sand, hop aboard the scenic railway for a relaxing return, it connects the surrounding area, running beside the Cornish coast and the views are simply stunning.
For a romantic night out, book a show at the Minack theatre, near Land’s End, it’s dramatically carved out of a Cornish cliff edge with the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop, or watch the sun set over the majestic St Michaels Mount, a castle set on its own island, near Penzance, or enjoy a stroll through Trebah, a sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop, near Falmouth, maybe television shows like Doc Martin, Poldark or films like Fisherman’s Friends inspired your visit to Cornwall, many of its filming locations can be enjoyed, discover historic tin mines, hidden coves and quaint harbours, don’t forget your camera.
