Westgate Retreat is a three-bedroom townhouse in Winchester city centre for up to six guests.
It has a hot tub in a private courtyard, a games room and four bathrooms, and dogs are welcome.
Each of the two king rooms has its own shower, and the twin can be made up as a king.
On foot: Westgate 2 minutes, station 5, cathedral 10. The whole house and courtyard are for your group only.
Self check-in uses a lockbox and is open from 4 pm until 9 pm; please leave by 10 am on your last day. Parking is on the street in permit Zone Q, and we provide one free digital parking permit. ID check and deposit: After booking, the lead guest completes a short ID check and deposit step with our partner SafeGuest.
You can choose either a £500 Damage Deposit (card details securely held; nothing is taken upfront and a charge can only be made following an approved claim) or SafeGuest's £55 No Deposit fee, paid directly to SafeGuest. If you're unable to complete the photo ID check, please message us and we'll arrange a short video call instead.
Please do not send ID documents by email. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am, as there is a separate flat above the house.
Up to two dogs are welcome; a pet fee applies. By completing your reservation, you agree to the Blue Puffin Stays Booking Terms (Guests) and the House Rules for this property. Quiet hours: 22:00 to 07:00. Pets: Allowed (maximum 2). Smoking: Not allowed.
Events: Not allowed.

Additional rules: During your stay - Dogs are welcome (up to 2); please ask us about any other pet. - Please use the hot tub until 10 pm (there is a flat above) and only plastic glasses in and around it. - Please tell us if anything breaks, rather than fixing it. Before you leave - Please leave used dishes in the sink or dishwasher, and rubbish in the kitchen bins. - Lock up, put the keys back in the lockbox and scramble the code. - Message us when you've left, so the cleaners can start. Our local Blue Puffin Stays team looks after Westgate Retreat.
Message us through your booking at any time: we reply between 8 am and 8 pm, seven days a week, and help with check-in until 9 pm. Your check-in details, with the lockbox instructions and an emergency number, arrive before your stay.
Check-in closes at 9 pm, so please plan to arrive by then. Westgate Retreat stands on Upper High Street in the old centre of Winchester.
On foot from the house: Westgate (the medieval city gate) 2 minutes; Great Hall, home of the Round Table, 3 minutes; Theatre Royal 5 minutes; Buttercross and the High Street shops 7 minutes; Winchester Cathedral 10 minutes.
The cathedral holds a Christmas market in November and December.
Easy walks include the Water Meadows towards St Cross Hospital, and St Giles Hill for views over the city.
Days out by car: South Downs, Marwell Zoo (about 5 miles), New Forest, Southampton and Portsmouth. The house has two levels: a ground floor with one bedroom, and a lower ground floor with two bedrooms and the games room.
Every bedroom has its own theme, with bold wallpaper and artwork around the house. Highlights - Hot tub under a shelter, in an enclosed private courtyard - Games room: arcade table, electronic darts, cinema seats, board games, and a Fire TV Cube on the smart TV - Four bathrooms for up to six guests - Kitchen island with seats for six - Wi-Fi throughout the house and a desk for work - Up to two dogs welcome (a pet fee applies) - One free on-street parking permit - Self check-in, 4 pm to 9 pm Bedrooms - Bedroom 1: en suite shower room, king-size bed, decorative period fireplace and smart TV - Bedroom 2: walk-in shower, toilet and basin inside the room; king-size bed; TV - Bedroom 3: twin room with two single beds (they can be joined as a king on request), a desk and a smart TV Beds are ready on arrival, made with hotel-quality linen, and towels are provided for every guest.
Spare pillows and blankets are in the house.
There is no cot or high chair. Fresh water takes about 6 to 8 hours to reach temperature, so if other guests left that morning, expect it to still be warming up on your first evening.
