Cobble House is a characterful Victorian house in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, featuring reclaimed materials, a woodburning stove, and a striking freestanding cast-iron bath.
More than one hundred and fifty years old, this thoughtfully restored home makes an inviting base for couples, friends, or families with older children wanting to immerse themselves in the town. Inside, original boards, exposed brick and hand-finished wood tell the story of the building’s past.
Gather around the woodburning stove in the open-plan living space, switch on the Smart TV, or leave the screens behind and bring out the boardgames and jigsaws.
In the kitchen, reclaimed-wood worktops continue the period character, while an oven, gas hob, air fryer, and coffee maker equip you for leisurely meals.
Pull up a seat at the breakfast bar or dine beside the sash window overlooking the cobbles. Upstairs are a king-size bedroom and double beneath the eaves.
The bathroom provides another memorable feature, with its deep cast-iron freestanding bath, brass fittings and reclaimed taps setting the scene for a long soak. With shops and a pub close by, exploring Hebden Bridge can begin on foot.
Discover the town before visiting Hardcastle Crags, combining historic surroundings with a day outside. Venture to nearby Haworth to step into literary history at the Brontë Parsonage Museum, then experience the heritage of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
Alternatively, make for Halifax, where the grand surroundings of The Piece Hall provide a distinctive stop on a day exploring West Yorkshire.
Back in Hebden Bridge, settle beside the woodburning stove or turn to another boardgame as the evening unfolds.
History, character and Yorkshire adventures come together at Cobble House.
